Well I pretty much don't have a band anymore, so that's great.
[He throws his hands up in frustration at everything going on. It feels like so long ago he was just a musician having a good time, doing what he loved.]
[Maxxie almost says something to the effect of "you should threaten to quit" but a wave of fear goes through him instead. He's terrified of what might happen to Terry if he stands up against his manager or the label in general, so he keeps his mouth shut on that front.]
Well... maybe it's not going to last, you know? Could be just a phase.
[Terry immediately tenses at that fear that Maxxie feels-- it's too close for him to ignore and he's still figuring out what to even do with that kind of thing, but Maxxie keeps talking and Terry relaxes. Sighing softly.]
[Terry smiles and sits up a little more to kiss Maxxie properly, and he cups Maxxie's face in his hands as he pulls back to just admire his boyfriend for a moment.]
[Terry has to fight the urge not to immediately reply that he's not, and he goes back to resting his head on Maxxie's shoulder with another sigh. Always uneasy with the compliments, he just doesn't see what other people do.]
[He makes a small noise that indicates he disagrees, but he can't really fight Maxxie on that, can he. It's kind of impossible to tell someone that they have the wrong take on this incredibly subjective thing. So instead Terry cuddles up a little closer (can he even get any closer?) and forces a bit of levity into his voice when he speaks.]

[And a few minutes later there will be a Terry knocking at the Flashnest. He looks beyond miserable.]

Sorry to disappoint you.

I'll get over it. What's going on?

You mean Koumei? I'm sure they'll find someone to replace him...

Not just that-- it's Garnet too. It's like she's someone else now.

[Maxxie wraps his arms around Terry and rubs his shoulder.]

I hope so.

I dunno what else you can do. Except for working on music with me. And maybe not telling anyone.
[It's something that they have tinkered with and joked around about and this is. Kind of half a joke.]

Whenever you want.

You're pretty amazing, you know.
no subject
Yeah, I do.
[He brushes his thumb on Terry's chin affectionately.]
You are too.
no subject
I really don't get why you think that.
[He did not fight the urge very well.]

'Cause you are. You're great. You're funny and sweet and cute and you make me happy.
no subject
Weird. I feel the same about you.

God it almost sounds like we like each other or something.
